The Alpha of Window

擷取臺灣傳統壓花玻璃的「圖樣」,以新的視角討論玻璃的「透明」。

我認為壓花玻璃所產生的光影視覺,與數位影像中的濾鏡效果,兩者有某種有趣的虛實對應,作品實驗以數位影像描繪「透明的圖像」,再將其實體化並疊加於空間中的玻璃窗戶,在透明與圖像之間,擴延對於玻璃顏色的討論。

Extracting the “patterns" of traditional embossed glass in Taiwan, this work explores the concept of “transparency" from a new perspective.

I find an intriguing parallel between the light and shadow effects created by embossed glass and the filter effects in digital imagery—both presenting a unique interplay of reality and illusion. This experiment translates digital depictions of “transparent images" into physical forms, layering them onto glass windows within a space. By positioning transparency and imagery in dialogue, the work extends the discussion on the perception and materiality of glass and its inherent colors.
